From 0.64.7 on, Decimation updates itself from the main menu: the Play button turns into Update when a new version is out.
How it works
- At start the game asks GitHub for our newest release; when it is newer, the menu button says Update.
- Click it: Decimation's update screen shows the download, its size and a green bar.
- The file is checked against the checksum GitHub publishes; a damaged download is thrown away.
- At Complete!, choose Quit game (start the game again from your launcher) or Later (the new version is put in place when you close the game).
Coming from 0.59 to 0.64.6
Careful
The updater of versions 0.59.0 to 0.64.6 cannot find its own jar and stops with "this game does not run from a jar". Install 0.64.7 or newer by hand once: replace mods/Decimation.jar with the new Decimation.jar. Every update after that works from the menu.
Turning it off
Set enabled to false in config/deciworldgen_update.cfg and the game stops asking GitHub.
